POND @ Spectrum

Sister Jane will be supporting WA groovers & shakers POND at Spectrum Wednesday 19th May.

POND features members Jay Watson (Tame Impala's Drummer) and Jamie Terry of The Silents. So if you dig those catz then there's all the more reason to come along.

The night will also be guided by the spun gold psych of DJ Count Doyle. Not to be missed.

Sydney Readers Festival

Sister jane is playing at a night called Even Books (parties themed around a different book each time), which for the first time ever will incorporate the Sydney Readers Festival (afterall, why should only the writers have a festival?!). The vibe is all 60s psychedelia as the book they're focusing on is by Richard Brautigan (massive weirdo and free love fiend) so it should be a whole bunch of crazy psych fun.

Tonight tonight

Come down to Spectrum tonight (Fri 12 Feb) and join us in a black mass with the legendary Dave McCromack (of Custard fame) & the Polaroids who will be double-headlining the show with the beautiful people that are 'The Lovetones'. Thank you so much to all of you who helped make Psychedelic Circus an amazing event to be part of on Saturday night. Most especially to all in attendance that joined in, dressed up, danced and got messed up in the spirit of the occasion. Bless you all. And to the bands The Prayer Circle, Boarders, and Anna Chase. The incredible circus acts Captain Fin-Head, FireFlirt, & Rusty Spoon. Not to forget the beautiful, dazzling and seductive Lauren La Rouge and her 'Grape Vine Ballon Burst' routine. Thankyou all you freaks. To those who went the extra mile and came in circus costume we love you. Yes you Claire. And to those that come to all the shows... Alex, Eyves, Vinnie, Morgaine, and many more of you, may your stars loom large and the planets align for you.

Sister Jane's 'Psychedelic Circus'

Run away to the circus with us!... Sister Jane have decided to throw a party with a twist at Sydney's legendary Annandale Hotel on Saturday 2nd January. We've dubbed it the 'Psychedelic Circus'.

Sister Jane is performing along with a host of other thrills & oddities including a Ringmaster with real-life circus acts in tow. All the way from San Francisco comes the amazing hula-hoop-heroin Joy Lin, aka Fireflirt, with her flipped-out LED hooper madness. There's the incredible, altogether scary, Captain Finhead with his machete juggling, axe balancing, bed of nails act. And then there's the la-la-lovely Lauren La Rouge, burlesque artiste extraordinaire, with her fruity seismically sensual 'Grape Vine Balloon Pop' routine ready to set our pulses racing and our get our juices flowing. Aren't you excited yet?!?!?

There'll be prizes for the best and weirdest circus costumes on the night, so be sure and dress for the occasion.

There's gonna be live psychedelic projection art by Kate & Alexander of Punk Monk Propaganda. There'll be psych DJs and supports by The Prayer Circle, Boarders (formerly The Flower Drum - Melb.), and the solo soundscape Alice in Wonderland artistry that is Sydney's very own Anna Chase.

All that for only fourteen bucks on the door, that's right freaks only $14.

All the action begins at 6pm, with doors open at 5.30pm so come nice and early.

It is indeed so and for that we give our thanks most of all to everyone who came to the recent launch shows in Sydney and danced and were so cool that you made it the most fun couple of evenings we can remember for quite some time.

First fruits - New Songs uploaded!!!

FREE MP3s are available for download from the album player (above) as a first-fruits offering from our forthcoming full-length release (due early 2010). The songs 'Outer Suburbs of the Soul' and 'Indigo Shire' recently came back from mastering by William Bowden and we're pretty excited with the results (if we may say so ourselves).

The songs were recorded with a bunch of other songs during album sessions this year and were produced by Liam Judson and Sister Jane, as well as mixed by Liam, all in our mountain studio. We hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we've enjoyed making them.
